MEDICA 2022: NEW PROFILE FOR EXHIBITORS TO IMPROVE THEIR DIGITAL PRESENCE AS PART OF THEIR PARTICIPATION

Premiere for MEDICA DEEP DIVE: Expert knowledge in a compact online format

When MEDICA, the world’s leading medical trade fair, will opens its doors from November 14 – 17, 2022 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany, visitors will already be well prepared thanks to digital information offers in advance. At the start of the trade fair autumn 2022 with CARAVAN SALON at the end of August, Messe Düsseldorf provides an optimized digital service with the new exhibitor profile which will also be implemented for MEDICA and the concurrently held supplier trade fair COMPAMED. The exhibitor profile is the core of the exhibiting companies’ digital trade fair presence and thus an important tool for companies to be found by (potential) customers, both digitally and on-site in the trade fair halls. Another benefit is the strong reach of the trade fair portal. The relaunch of the exhibitor profiles was rolled out across all Messe Düsseldorf online portals in mid-July.

“Companies need to present themselves and their products to their best advantage, both live at the trade fair and online. The new exhibitor profile makes this possible”, explained Wolfram N. Diener, President & CEO of Messe Düsseldorf. “We have reinvested in platforms that we can provide to our customers both in-person and digitally. Our trade fairs are open 365 days a year on our online portals. They form the first point of contact for their respective industries. In order to provide our customers with the greatest possible benefit, we are in regular exchange with them and are continuously developing our digital services, such as the online portals.”

A new feature is the modern and clear design of the exhibitor profile, which has also been further optimized for use on mobile devices. Visitors to the databases can filter the offering according to personal interests. This makes it easier to find companies, their products, trade show events or company news. In addition, contacting companies has been simplified and personal favorites lists can be created with the click of a button - which also makes it much easier for visitors to prepare for the trad

Digital discussion rounds as a “warm-up”

The digital, English-language discussion rounds “MEDICA DEEP DIVE”, which will start shortly, are also intended as a “warm-up” in the sense of targeted content preparation for participation in the trade fair. They will focus on particularly relevant trend topics in the healthcare sector in the run-up to MEDICA. The event starts on September 22 with the topic “Diagnostics of Infectious Diseases,” which will focus on current innovations and developments in the field of point-of-care diagnostics. This will be followed by the topics “Artificial Intelligence/ Big Data in Medical Applications” (October 13) and “Smart Hospital” (November 3). The moderated online panel discussions will concisely present expert knowledge from industry, clinical practice and science live in 45-minute segments and can be streamed on the industry portal www.medica-tradefair.com (for more information: https://www.medica-tradefair.com/en/MEDICA_DEEP_DIVE).

Bookings above previous year's level

The trend for exhibitor bookings suggests that participation in both MEDICA 2022 and COMPAMED 2022 will be above last year’s level (MEDICA 2021: 3,033 companies,  COMPAMED 2021: 490)

Focus segments at MEDICA will include: Laboratory technology and diagnostics, medical technology and medical electronics (imaging and diagnostic/ medical equipment and devices), supplies and consumables, physiotherapy and orthopedic technology as well as IT systems and IT solutions.

The top-class conference program of MEDICA 2022 includes the 45th German Hospital Conference as the leading event for the top management of German hospitals as well as the conference for disaster and defense medicine DiMiMED for international experts and the MEDICA MEDICINE + SPORTS CONFERENCE for the global specialist scene of sports medicine and sports science.

New HEPA filters for highest quality air

In addition to the advanced program planning, technical upgrades will also ensure the best conditions for MEDICA 2022 and COMPAMED 2022. In the first half of 2022, the entire Düsseldorf fairgrounds and congress center was equipped with HEPA filters. This currently most effective air treatment technology is also used, for example, in operating rooms and intensive care units. HEPA filters remove 99.9% of viruses, bacteria and other particles from the air. The purified air is then fed back into the room. “In combination with high-performance ventilation systems, the filters in our large halls ensure that our guests can attend the trade fair with a sense of security,” stated Christian Grosser, Director Healthcare & Medical Technologies at Messe Düsseldorf.
